Tag Rugby
On Tuesday 7th of June some of us went to Fortchers Cross to take part in the annual Tag Rugby Festival. Fourteen people went; Ewart, Guy, Matthew w, Kieron, Matthew A-R, Lucie, Amber F-L, Beth, Kate, Victoria, Poppy, Luke, Josh and Jamie. When we got there a lot of other schools were already there, practising. We found a place in the shade of the trees and dumped our bags down. We threw the ball around with our coach, Guy's dad, Mike Oldrieve. Then we divided into group A and Group B.
When the first horn sounded we hurried over to our opposition. We lost. 4-2 to them. They played really well and it was three cheers all round. There was a ten-minute break then we were on to our second match. Guy scored a fantastic try by running the entire length of the pitch! Even so, we lost again. There was this time a 15-minute break. We talked to Mike and we found out that we had to win our next match to stay in the tournament. We won it by 2 goals; another great try from Guy. It was lunchtime and we ravenously gobbled down our food. When we were finished we found out we were out of the tournament but we could carry on playing with others. We could play two matches and we won both of them 3-2. At the end we won two fair play awards, which were two rugby balls. When we got back we were boiled and exhausted but proud.
